About This Site

Why this site exists
Dog Pregnancy Calculator is a single-topic site built by dog people: owners and small-scale breeders who got tired of calculators that gave a single date with no window, no week-by-week chart, and a “breed adjustment” that invented precision the science does not support. So we built the tool we wanted at our own whelping boxes: enter the mating date, get the due date, the honest 58–68 day window, her current week, and a dated calendar you can print — free, with no signup and nothing stored.
What the site is built on
Every number here comes from standard veterinary references for canine gestation — the roughly 63 days from ovulation, the confirmation timings for palpation, ultrasound, the relaxin test and X-ray, and the fetal development milestones in our week-by-week chart — the same figures cited by references such as the Merck Veterinary Manual and the guidance of organizations like the AKC and VCA. We name our sources generally and keep the claims conservative on purpose: where veterinary sources give a range, we print the range.
What we are not
We are not veterinarians, and this site is not veterinary advice. The calculator does date arithmetic — it cannot confirm a pregnancy, count puppies, or tell you your dog is healthy. That is why the disclaimer is not buried: it sits above the tools, because the most important feature of this site is knowing exactly what it cannot do. Work with your own vet from confirmation through whelping.
How we work
- One topic, deeply. Every page on this site is about dog pregnancy and breeding — nothing else, ever.
- No invented numbers. If a figure is not a standard veterinary reference value, it does not appear.
- No fake personalization. Breed does not change gestation length, so our calculator never pretends it does.
- Corrections welcome. If you spot an error, tell us — accuracy is the whole product.
